Capellans Beach Webcam

This is Salou's popular "Capellans" Beach. Note this image is copyright of Malcolm J. Robb and may not be reproduced without permission.

What you are seeing: You're looking West from the East end of Salou. In the foreground, Capellans beach. The word refers to the Bishops of Tarragona whose land this once was. It is a "pocket" beach, so called as it is enclosed by cliffs and is deeper than it is wide. In the centre are the walls of the 17th century fort or "fortin". An apartment block was built on the ruined fort in the 1970's. The gate of the old fort can still be seen on the West side. There are two small headlands beyond which you can see the main beach of Salou, Platja Llevant (East Beach) with the palm lined promenade behind. The Sports Port lies beyond that and the West beach "Platja Ponent". On clear days the mountains behind can be seen. The roundish hill above the port is "Colldejou" and to the left of that "Llaberķa", where the weather radar is situated. We move the camera to take in nice sunsets and interesting activities offshore. Like to see more webcams all over the world? Try these sites: Beach Webcams World Webcams
